    According to the Journal News, the City of Rye has lost another challenge to have the lawyer for the PBA president removed. In an article from December 17th, 2006 the Journal News notes that the city has again been told that Officer Tim Chittenden's lawyer, Attorney Jonathan Lovett, may represent him in the matter of disciplinary charges stemming from 3 1/2 years ago. The decision by the Supreme Court Appellate Division follows similar decisions by the State Supreme Court and the original hearing officer that Mr. Lovett may represent the union president.

Rye PBA News

    The mold mitigation continues at the police station. The records office, formerly the youth bureau and prior to that, the administrative office has been found to be infested with mold. The records office is to be moved to a construction trailer so that the office may be cleared of mold. This follows the ongoing renovation of the rear of the police station.

Rye PBA News

    The Rye Police Association welcomes Christine Incalcatera to its' ranks. Officer Incalcatera  was accepted into the association at the September meeting. She previously worked for the New York City Police Department. She will spend several weeks in a field training assignment before a squad assignment in patrol. The Rye PBA wishes her the best of luck in her career with the Rye Police Department.

    The City of Rye has begun emergency repairs to the police station. A serious mold condition is being addressed that exists in the building. The rear section of the building has been vacated and personnel moved into construction trailers to facilitate the mitigation of this serious health concern. The entire back section of the building, including the detective division, supervisor's locker room and administrative offices are to be gutted and renovated. This section, the old garage area, has been found to be infected with mold. The city expects the renovations to take 4 months.
