Welcome to the City of Rye PBA website. The Rye Police Association
represents all sworn members of the City of Rye Police Department. Our
40 / 33 members proudly serve Rye,
NY, a small city located
approximately 10 miles North of New York City.
Annual PBA Fund Drive
Our
solicitation drive for 2011 has begun. The Rye PBA would like to take
a moment to clarify an issue that crops up every year. Many of you receive
telephone calls, soliciting money under the guise of various Police
Association Groups. The desk officer at the police station receives many,
many calls from residents asking if the calls are legitimate. Well, the
answer is two-fold. There are organizations that solicit funds in the name
of various police organizations. Some are legitimate and some are not.
Generally, these groups are professional fund raisers. The money they
collect may eventually get to some police group, but they take a hefty cut
of it first. Please note, that the Rye Police Association DOES NOT
participate in any telephone solicitation campaign. We DO NOT benefit from
these solicitors in any way. Our ONLY solicitation effort
is through the yearly mailing that residents receive at their homes.
